THE GPI-1616 GENERAL PURPOSE INTERFACE

The MicroFirst GPIO-1616 is our second-generation general-purpose controller, providing intelligent duplex interface solutions for contact-based legacy equipment. The unit provides 16 dry-contact inputs, 16-relay outputs, an integrated configurable serial port, and an integrated 100-base ethernet port. The GPI-1616 has a redundant power unit, front-panel indicators for LAN and serial communication and is optically isolated. The new GPI-1616 can be stacked one atop of each other, or combined with our MPC-3200 and/or ICS-3200. This unit can reside on a standard network infrastructure.

The GPIO-1616 has a real-time, multi-tasking, preemptive, operating system. Our WinMOS is the product of a long line of real-time operating kernels developed by MicroFirst over the past 20 years, and provides the stability necessary for unparalleled reliability. There are onboard input and control facilities, with a 2-line by 24-character backlit LCD display and a 15-key sealed-membrane keypad.

The unit is supplied in a 1-RU, 19” rack-mount case, (1.75”h, 16.25”w, 11.25”d) with a full range of LED indicators on the screened-printed faceplate overlay. It is wired for 90-240-volt AC environments, is U.L, CE and F.C.C. tested and approved, and provides 4 DB-25pin connectors for the input/output connections, an RJ-45 100BaseT connection and a RJ-45 serial communication connection on the rear of the unit. It also includes a replaceable 3-volt Lithium battery for static memory.
