DAS - The Digital Automation System Print

A stand-alone, fully expandable and extensible real-time event controller designed to provide reliable and efficient schedule management and device control for multiple media sources.

Overview - The MicroFirst Digital Automation System provides real-time automation processing, machine control and database management through a single rack unit, embedded hardware platform. Add an ICS-3200, our intelligent changeover switch, to monitor the redundant automation processor with seamless, automatic switches to air.

The DAS runs on our reliable and efficient real-time OS, The MicroFirst WinMOS. There are no lock-ups, no “blue-screens” and no waiting for long boot-up processes. The system typically boots in 10 seconds or less, from power-on, providing faster services with minimal down-time.

DAS - Product Options

DAS-NLS System - The DAS-NLS System automates the hierarchical storage and retrieval process of video clips existing on professional archive devices and/or networked attached storage (NAS) disk arrays, and on professional on-line video servers.

ESI - Edge Server Interface - The DAS Edge Server Interface (ESI) is responsible for communicating to Edge Servers and other external systems that can provide the DAS with updates to its video clip metadata.  It communicates directly to Edge Servers such as PathFire, and also content transcoding systems that are fed by Edge Servers such as FlipFactory.

DASXif (DAS XML Interface) - The DAS XML Interface (DAS Xif) communicates necessary information to any outside 3rd party software. Currently it is used as part of a bi-directional communication with Traffic systems, feeding back important video clip metadata changes to Traffic via a flexible XML format.
