Regional Mapping and Satellite Data Link Systems
MicroFirst designed and implemented all software used by CBS head end in NY for their network schedule creation and generation. The system uses an SQL data base engine with fully implemented GUI control. There is a real time feed to a web site where affiliate stations can view in graphical form (i.e. a color coded map of the United States) certain schedule modes that different regions of the country are in at a given time. The network schedules are distributed via satellite to all CBS affiliate sites through the MicroFirst head end software.
At each affiliate site, there is a MicroFirst MPC-1610 controller running our automation application that receives the network schedules. Equipment at the affiliate site is controlled by the MPC-1610 according to the schedules received from the satellite. The system, end to end, was designed, manufactured and implemented by MicroFirst. The system was rolled out in 1999 and has been operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ever since.
